Our founder, Mark, started in the machine tool industry in 1986 after graduating from the University of Detroit and worked for another gentlemen for almost four years. In 1990, he went out on his own and started Machinery International Corp. In 1991, he acquired the company he formerly worked at and concentrated in high production Transfer Lines and Dial Index tables. These machines were very good for MIC, but technology changed around 2000, and our buying and selling focus was directed towards other types of machinery. We got heavily involved in Spline Rolling, Broaches, CNC Gear machines, Centerless and Double Disc Grinders, European Screw Machines, Plastic Injection Presses, Blow Molding Equipment and Machining Centers. 80% of my business is repeat business.
Most of the equipment we sell we also have the ability to rebuild, retool and run off parts for a customer. We buy and sell anywhere from one machine to entire facilities. Some of our larger projects were the liquidation of Ford Motor Company’s Batavia (Cincinnati) Transmission facility and also Ford’s Craiova (Romania) Engine and Transmission Plant. We also supplied the majority of the machines that went into the vocational joint venture between Dave Bing and Ford in Detroit. We also have done two successful auctions with Premier Asset Recovery Group in Chicago.
We’ve taken part in auctions such as ones at Mack Truck/Volvo in Hagerstown, MD as well as at Anderson Cook’s division MRA in Clinton Twp., MI. We also own machines with other dealers like, Tramar, Roberts, Equipment Trading, SMVI, Excel and many others.
